What is project management?

Project management, just like hierarchical management but with some different dimensions, involves skills, and like any skill, it develops, it's dynamic.

It's a skill.

Understanding the different phases and types of projects, the processes and deliverables needed to achieve the final objective, managing internal and external stakeholders, one's team, planning tasks and their execution, regularly measuring progress and being comfortable with reporting, managing complexity and uncertainty…

It is also, and primarily, a matter of interpersonal skills.
